TRIZ India

For those who seriously think HOW to innovate

Everyone,
Prakash, Shankar and I were discussing about a potential TRIZ India event. Our immediate thoughts and some questions:

- The event by itself should actually be solving a contradiction
- IFR - members and non-members should be excited about applying TRIZ and teaching it to others alike after the event
- Why do we need this event?
- Do we charge people attending this?
- real event or virtual event or a combo?
- sponsorship?
- venue? real/virtual ?
- Since this is an event concerning all of us members, let's open up discussions to TRIZ India. (Result is this discussion thread)

- Maybe solve SEVERAL contradictions; making it possible to keep multiple "major streams". And possibly applying more of TRIZ from different perspectivs.

- Why do we need? For fun, to demonstrate the TRIZ-tool & methodology; to help people understand. As a gift to interested people. To meet other TRIZ-interested people. To enforce the network of TRIZ-people....

- Combo seems lika a good idea. Let people meet in real life and work together AND let people on distance participate.

- Sponsors would be nice. TRIZ-software companies? TRIZ-consultant companies? Other consulting companies involved in problem solving? Local government? Universities in India?

- Would be interestig to find a couple of real world problems to work on. Classroom learning and workshops and real problem solving. Learning and applying AND solving real problems. Problems could be both problems of global interest AND more local problems. Maybe the sponsors could help define problems?

There is no way to have a seriouis session without sponsorship. And if out of country participants are desired, how is their travel to be paid? Some ideas: Each sponsor receives an on site workshp tailored to their needs and the cost of this is sufficient to both be a sponsor and off set travel costs.

I don't know about India, but having a confernece just to have "fun" doesn't fly in any corporate books that I have seen lately!

Frnds,

My take:
- Why do we need this event?
For bringing "TRIZ-ite"s together, for learning from each other, for spreading awareness, and so on..

- real event or virtual event or a combo?
I definitely recommend a combo

But I think the bigger question to pose to all of us would be
-Whats going to be the content ?

my first-cut thought would be keeping at least one session or a couple on applying TRIZ across different disciplines-not only different engineering streams (mechanical/materials/chemical etc) but also medical, biotech, agriculture, & ...how about across really creative fields like advertising/media..

Sounds like an exciting idea. Lets keep real 2 day event as IFR. Some thoughts using TRIZ thinking

1) Localize : Local gatherings of TRIZ enthusiasts.
2) Use intimidatory : Use web to connect local groups in real time.

Now some thigs i wish to have from the event

1) Discuss TRIZ education and how we can teach/ learn in collaboration
2) Setting some target for TRIZ India to pursue.

Will post more as the discussion progresses.

Idea of TRIZ India event Sounds great,

I suggest we should have some sessions from the practitioner and share some of the success stories and also the process. This would help a lot. If some one can also comprehend TRIZ not used but change in the result, efficiency and potential 'WHAT IF' it would have been used.

More later . . .
