TRIZ Meetup at Mumbai

Dear all,

We have been receiving periodic queries from budding TRIZ enthusiasts on how to start learning and applying TRIZ, which books and articles to read, domain specific case studies etc.

To some extent, some of these needs are being met through informal recommendation of reading material and more formal sharing of experiences through public workshops, training sessions and of course, our annual TRIZ India Summit (the second edition awaits funds).

There also seems to be a need for regular and informal in-person interactions, where specific TRIZ topics can be discussed at leisure. We need more of the excellent podcasts that have been shared here at TRIZ India. We also need periodic meetups, where discussions and debate can driven by questions of the participants.

In this context, a periodic TRIZ meetup is being initiated - the first meetup is in Mumbai on Sunday, April 15th.

We will meet at one of Mumbai's many popular "kattas" (meeting places), preferably in the open, under a suitably large tree, (and hopefully, a tea-stall nearby). Since this is a meetup, and not a training session or workshop, there will be no laptops or powerpoint presentations.

The meetup will be a 60 minute affair (extendible to 90 minutes if required).

A TRIZ topic will be pre-selected by the group. Participants are free to bring along relevant papers or articles (printed copies) as food for thought and discussion.

Agenda or contents will not be pre-decided - it will be a free-wheeling discussion.

We will have at least one practitioner (the more the merrier) to share experiences and answer questions and drive the discussion. Questions that cannot find satisfactory answers will be posted on various TRIZ forums including this one, so that the larger community can also participate.

As the initiator of the first meetup, I get to choose the first topic and venue :-). Next venue and topic will be selected by the group.
